Embracing Eco-Friendly Packaging at Prime Catering Pty Ltd

Our Commitment to Sustainability

When Western Australia announced the plastic ban in 2022, we recognized the importance of this initiative and immediately began searching for eco-friendly packaging solutions. We understand the significant impact that single-use plastics have on our environment, and we are determined to do our part in reducing plastic waste.

Why Eco Packaging Matters

Switching to eco-friendly packaging is not just about complying with regulations; it’s about making a positive impact on our planet. By choosing sustainable packaging, we are reducing our carbon footprint, minimizing waste, and supporting a healthier environment for future generations.

The Challenge of Finding Eco-Friendly Packaging

Our journey to find the best eco-friendly packaging has been both challenging and rewarding. We have explored various options, including biodegradable containers, compostable packaging, and recyclable materials. However, the transition has not been without its hurdles.

Our journey to find eco-friendly packaging has been challenging yet rewarding. We reached out to numerous suppliers locally and internationally to find suitable replacements for our plastic sushi trays and food containers. Ensuring the quality and durability of these eco-friendly options was a major hurdle, as many biodegradable and compostable materials did not initially meet our standards. Additionally, the higher cost of sustainable packaging required careful financial planning, and occasional supply chain disruptions added to the complexity. Despite these challenges, we have made significant progress and continue to strive for the best solutions.

Plastics have become part of our everyday life. They are inexpensive, convenient and used in many applications. However, the single-use nature of many of these plastics contributes to a wasteful, take-make-dispose economy.

Our Future Plans

We are excited to continue our journey towards sustainability. In the coming months, we plan to introduce more innovative packaging solutions and further reduce our reliance on single-use plastics.
